EPISODE – 43. – ‘Sweet Tooth’

On the April 19th episode I was giving you two of our favourite Sweet Tooth satisfiers. This one was extra special to me. I was proud to share my Momma’s Ultimate kitchen sink Caramel corn. 💝

Fam, this was the crispy, caramelly, salty, buttery snack of your dreams. We had a late-night monster movie tradition that my Momma used to make a mountain of this for. I have made this with my very special kidlets Ashi, Jing Wei, and Lilly at school. We made 4 huge batches as holiday gifts during the last days before the Summer holiday break. They can vouch for its obsessive craveability and how fun it was to make!!

Congratulations to Toni Burnett-Rands (also known as Honey Child) for her appearance on Adam Liaw’s program, The Cook Up, last night. Toni is a well-known Kingborough resident who has an incredible passion for heritage cooking. She truly cooks from the heart and her enthusiasm is infectious. Toni also works with Kingston Primary School, teaching students to cook using produce from their school garden. It’s wonderful to see the children learn valuable skills and they truly love her.

Toni is a wonderful advocate for Tasmanian produce and as someone who is a passionate cook, I admire her greatly. I was fortunate to do a cooking class with her many years ago and it was a great experience. She generously shared some wonderful recipes that I regularly cook. I so wish she had a cookbook!

Congratulations Toni and thank you for being part of our wonderful community. If you missed seeing her last night you can catch up on SBS on Demand.

EPISODE – 75. – ‘I Grew Up with This

Honey Child cooks up a dish she grew up with, epic pork chop sammiches. This is THE pork chop dish to end all. It is crispy, juicy, flavourful and surprisingly delicious. Bonus: The spice blend is a keeper to use in your savoury cooking.
